At long last I am pleased to report the final notes of my 2021 SITPFKWB fund raising challenge.
Knowing how difficult yet another year of Covid has been for folks, I decided to set a modest goal of $1,000.00. Times are tough for so many but the sad realities of pet rescue are still out there. And, in hard times, neglect and abandonment of dogs, and especially seniors, has escalated. I am thrilled and sincerely thankful for the wonderful support and generosity shown by so many caring folks.

Once again this year, I chose Happy's Place Retirement Home For Dogs as the beneficiary of my fundraising efforts. Their dedication to saving and rehabilitating senior dogs who have been dumped and abandoned due to health issues or financial strain is, to say the least, praiseworthy! The many heart-warming, happily-ever-after stories that I read during the month of September alone confirmed that I had chosen well.

I am a little disappointed to say that I fell short of my walking goal to top my record of 301 kilometers, completing a measly 208.5 kilometers this year. But, along the way, I was honoured to meet many “rescued” fur-kids (and of course their mommies and daddies) who are now enjoying their tail-wagging, happily-ever-after lives with families who were eager to share their stories and are showering them with love! I was blessed too, to receive support and encouragement from my friends and family.
Once again this year, Covid prevented me from making my usual round of presentations to share the SITPFKWB story, my passion for fur-kids, talk about the irreplaceable and vital role pet rescue plays in today’s society, and to discuss the importance of responsible pet guardianship. I hold out hope that by next September, I can once again resume those speaking engagements.
Drummmmm Rolllll Please......

So, I am pleased to report that today, ON BEHALF OF ALL OF YOU, I was proud and honoured to present a cheque, in the amount of $1,485 to Angela of Happy’s Place Retirement Home For Dogs.

A Special Anniversary
SITPFKWB will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary next year! While, technically, I took a 2 year hiatus to raise money for Parkinson's Research through my Paces for Peg, I have been fundraising now for nearly 10 years.
With this year's donation of $1,485.00, SITPFKWB has raised nearly $14,000 since its inception in 2013. Over the years, I have been exceedingly excited and deeply dedicated to continuing the SITPFKWB tradition, working hard to cultivate this annual event. Trying to make it bigger and better each and every year and raising awareness for homeless and abandoned animals has always been my priority. Number 10 will be our last.
So, to go out with a "bang", I have already begun planning for next year’s event by setting the date (Sunday, September 25th) for the next STROLL-ALONG-SUNDAY, which will be making a great comeback; bigger and more exciting than ever!! (Surely, Covid will be just a bad memory by then.) Stay tuned to my Facebook page and my website for all the news and some surprise announcements over the next few months.
