 Stroll-Along-Sunday 2014

Stroll-Along-Sunday, an event that was born out of my month-long fundraising challenge STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK, took place in Springbank Park on Sunday, September 28ty. Blessed with streaming sunshine and beautiful blue sky, I couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect day.

After receiving so many inquiries in 2013 during my first
SITPFKWB event, I decided to add a new and interactive component to my walk and involve those other like-minded folks. Much to my disappointment, most of those people didn’t materialize HOWEVER, to the ones who did, I want to express my deepest, most heartfelt thanks for your enthusiastic support!

The afternoon was spent chatting about our dogs and enjoying the warm summer-like day filled with fresh air and all the sights and smells of the many picnics taking place in the park. Cookies and refreshments were provided for all participants (two and four-legged) and everyone shared lots of laughs and stories.

Thanks to Shari McNeill for your great photography and to Carole Dutton for your enthusiastic support on behalf of the Animalert organization. And, thanks too, to all the other ladies who joined in with your fur-kids (adoptive or foster). As I said, I’m sure the Terry Fox Run didn’t start at the size it is today, and I plan to work hard over the next 11 months to improve and expand Stroll-Along-Sunday.

The opportunity to meet some of the tail-wagging, happily-ever-afters as well as the fur-kids currently waiting for their forever families makes me proud to be able to help in some small way. And knowing that the funds raised will help care for innocent fur-kids rescued from abuse, neglect, and abandonment gives me the incentive to work even harder and walk even further as I
