DAY 7 :: STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)

Sun & Surf

The rainy weather finally moved out thanks to some pretty strong winds this morning but the sun was brilliant as I struck out for today's SITPFKWB.

Today I discovered an historic cemetery which was a memorial site to the folks of Irish descent who first settled here in the late 18th century. Then, as I continued on, I found a route that led me directly into the waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The area here is certainly a tranquil and serene setting! We plan to go back to Cousins Shore Beach to spend some time if the weather allows.

The thing I have missed however, are the encounters with dogs while I walk! Besides my three darlings -who stay home for these long treks- I can't say that I've seen any others over the past couple of days. Perhaps it's just that we're in such a secluded area.

But, I am pleased to report that I logged 12 kilometers today. Yay!! I hope I can continue to log such great numbers, although I will need to boost my numbers even more to meet my all time high total of 305 kilometers! I'll do my level best, you can count on that!

I am truly honoured, humbled, pleased, and grateful for those of you who have already pledged your support and thank you from the bottom of my heart! We all know that in these tough economic times, pet rescue programs are struggling financially to care for those fur-kids in their custody. It is with your generosity that we can make a difference! I'm also deeply and sincerely thankful to those of you, my wonderful supporters, whose likes and shares of my Facebook page help spread the word of my cause. The donations that you make possible through this simple click of a mouse help support pet rescues hurting in these hard times. THANK YOU!!!

As ever, I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents-per-kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience for my non-Canadian supporters, you can click here for my GoFundMe page, but for my local supporters, I am also happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers at StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com

Tomorrow's forecast looks even better than today's so I'll be heading out early to add more "PEI Paces" as I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)!!!
