DAY 30 :: STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)

My walking pal Shari and I logged an even 10 kilometers this morning as we hit the trail in Springbank Park shortly after sunrise. Add to that the 5 that Jeffrey and I knocked off a little later in the day, and it was a stellar last day with a total of 15 kilometers. But, as Jeffrey and I marched along, I reflected on the life made possible by pet rescue. You see, Jeffrey was born in a puppy mill just north of Kitchener, Ontario. One of the many monstrous operations still in business in Ontario. At two days old, he was scheduled for destruction because he was born with Opthalmia Neonatorum, where one of his eyes did not develop, making him worthless garbage to the breeder. But, fortunately that day, a veterinarian from Cambridge was making a visit to monitor the presence of brucellosis [ https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/brucellosis-dogs-infection-bacteria-ontario-puppy-breeders-1.5051751 ] and discovered Jeffrey before he could be euthanized. She took him home and through foster, Jeffrey was nursed with hand feeding and lots of TLC to a healthy little boy full of spunk and sweetness.

Rescue programs are never sure what their next challenge will be, nor can they predict the costs of treating what ever diseased or injured pooch comes into the program. But, together, we can make a difference in the life of a fur-kid who, by no fault of their own, ends up in rescue. The neglected, abused, and abandoned souls who come into care deserve whatever treatment they need to live out the rest of their lives happy, healthy (as much as possible), and LOVED!!
I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite you to show your support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. Even the smallest amount is still better than none. And, for added convenience in this global world, I have created a GoFundMe page but for my local supporters I am happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers at (StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com).
So, while this is the last day of the SITPFKWB 2021 campaign, I will be accepting donations until Sunday, October 3rd. I hope you'll find it in your heart and in your wallet to make a small donation as I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)!!!
