To Wield a Sword or Sit Under the Pomegranate Tree

The Pastor's message today really struck a chord with me; especially right now, during SITPFKWB 2021. You see, Pastor Steve issued a challenge to the congregation this morning. So, suffice it to say, I have chosen to "wield my sword".

Back in 2013, I became acutely aware of the dire straights of pet rescue and the need for added financial support from the community. Not only had I committed to fostering (which quickly failed into the adoption of our sweet Joee), I created SITPFKWB in order to help local rescue groups, by raising money to be used for the urgent veterinarian care of so many neglected, abused, and abandoned dogs.

Now in my 9th SITPFKWB campaign, I see that the need, instead of diminishing over the years, has actually ballooned. The disturbing trend of abandoning senior dogs because of health issues and newly adopted "pandemic" pooches because they're now a lifestyle inconvenience has created a whole new increased level of need.

I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite you to show your support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. Even the smallest amount is still better than none. And, for added convenience in this global world, I have created a GoFundMe page but for my local supporters I am happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers at (StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com).

I am truly humbled and honoured by the incredibly generous folks who, year after year, have followed and supported my quest. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Today, Miss Joee and I added 5 more kilometers to the log book. But, with just 4 days remaining in the SITPFKWB 2021 campaign, my battle continues as I wield my sword and STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)!!!
