DAY 22 :: STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)

Neither Rain Nor Sleet...

Even we Canadians recognize the familiar mantra of the USPS letter carrier (aka mailman in antiquated terms) in some form. Here's the "official" creed, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" Well, with a rain system of enormous proportion stalled over our area for at least the next 24 hours, I knew that waiting it out wasn't going to be an option today. So I went out and logged 6.5 kilometers. While some may call it crazy, others may view it as devotion to a cause. Rest assured, in some respects I can be a little crazy (just ask my husband LOL), but there's no disputing that I am truly devoted to SITPFKWB 2021!!

So, when my Facebook feed presents a newcomer to Happy's Place, I am more determined than ever to do the best I can to support them. But to do that I NEED YOUR HELP!

Meet Sasha

Sasha is an adorable 17-year-old princess but is still pretty spunky. In fact, other than cataracts (meaning that while she can't easily watch TV from a distance, she can still read the newspaper LOL) and a little hearing loss, her heart and lungs are strong. Neither does she have any issues with mobility. She can do a couple of stairs (2 at a time) but you might need to carry her for the rest. Sasha loves to go on little walks and explore the yard. She's best suited to a detached home because when she can't find you or needs you to get her dinner a bit quicker, she can be a bit of a talker.

Sweet Sasha loves to snuggle and is a very cuddly little girl. She just loves pets and ear scratches and belly rubs. And sometimes when you try to stop she'll give you a nudge with her paw to ask for more! Sasha isn't really a fan of other dogs so a forever home as an only dog would been best. Cats are cool though- she's met and lived with cats and doesn't mind them at all.

Overall, Sasha's blood is very healthy and she is spayed too. She recently had a dental and has the best pearly whites now. At 17 some very early renal changes can be expected so she's been placed on a mature consult diet to maintain her very best health.

This little Princess loves to nap on laps or just hang out nearby. She loves car rides, sleeps well through the night, is house trained, and of course, loves, loves, loves treats too! Sasha is now living a better life now but looks forward to her BEST life with a new forever family! Applications to adopt Sasha can be found at www.happysplace.ca. She is currently being fostered in St Thomas ON. https://www.happysplace.ca/match/adopt.html

DONATIONS MATTER 🐾

As you can imagine, Sasha's rehab costs money. And while her adoption fee may help to balance the cost of her care while in foster, important and necessary veterinarian care is also a financial responsibility that must be met.

I am committed to doing my best to make this year a success. To those of my supporters who have already donated, THANK YOU, EVER SO MUCH, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite you to show your support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. Even the smallest amount is still better than none. And, for added convenience in this global world, I have created a GoFundMe page but for my local supporters I am happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers at (StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com).

Again, many thanks, from the bottom of my heart 😊 to those of you who have already supported this year's campaign. Together, we're making a difference while I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)!!!
