DAY 18 :: STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)

Saturday In The Park

The month of September can be a busy one for most of us and this year is no exception in the Wright household (even during Covid). But, no matter what chores, appointments, and other pressing engagements, SITPFKWB 2021 takes top priority! So, on the days where I have a number of other things on my calendar, I will do my level best to log at least a few official kilometers. Today was one of those days but I was pleased to at least be able to log 3.5 kilometers. And better yet, Bill joined me and added a few to his own total too.

Everyday, when I have so many things whirling in my brain, I take a minute to think about some of the sweet little seniors waiting for homes of their own. Safe homes with families to love them. And I know that even just a few kilometers will add to the total donation that will make this possible for a fur-kid like Oreo being dumped off even this moment!

Meet Oreo

OREO'S STORY🐾

Ten year old Oreo was presented for euthanasia at an Ontario shelter thinking "the dog had a stroke" because he suddenly vomited & seemed dizzy. Sweet Oreo was diagnosed in shelter with having a vestibular episode (an inner ear disorder) from which he is now recovering. He does sport quite the head tilt now which is common with this condition, however he gets around well. The rest of him was presented in absolutely terrible condition. His skin was raw & itchy, his ears infected. All chronic conditions. His fur was so matted, he barely resembled a dog. He is also overweight. But instead of death by injection, and because of some wonderful partnerships, Oreo immediately got the medical care he needed to begin his journey to better health.

[**We all know that there are situations when medical treatment is an expense that some families simply cannot afford. But, PLEASE!!! REACH OUT, to local rescue groups who may be able to help!]

HAPPILY EVER AFTER ON THE HORIZON🐾

Because of amazing vet care, fantastic foster families, and shelters all working together, Oreo will be able to thrive again. His bounce and smile will return, his allergies will calm down, and he'll be ready to join a forever family ♡♡♡. Oreo is one heck of a happy fellow who loves walks, being active, and is full of the very best snuggles and cuddles too.

Welcome to Happy's Place Oreo♡♡♡

DONATIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE🐾

Oreo's recovery has been made possible because of financial donations and wonderful volunteers! I hope you will consider joining me in supporting Happy's Place and become a "Happy's Hero". There are still other "Oreos" out there waiting to be saved!!

I am committed to doing my best to make SITPFKWB 2021 a success. To those of my supporters who have already donated, THANK YOU, EVER SO MUCH, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite you to show your support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. Even the smallest amount is still better than none. And, for added convenience in this global world, I have created a GoFundMe page but for my local supporters I am happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers (StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com).

Again, many thanks, from the bottom of my heart 😊 to those of you who have already supported this year's campaign. Together, we're making a difference while I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)!!!
