DAY 13 :: STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)

Fond Farewell

The last day. That's always such a sad thought. Time moves at lightening speed when you're on holiday. And oh, how quickly these 10 days have flown past!

I have done my best to log as many SITPFKWB 2021 kilometers as possible during our stay here on Prince Edward Island but I will certainly have my work cut out for me when we get back to reality. Today, I logged a total of 9.25 kilometers, once again enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of a rolling country lane and I couldn't resist bringing back another wildflower bouquet.

As Jakie walked with me, I reflected on his history as a rescue pup. He still, even three years later, tends to panic as we strike out for a walk and only settles as home is back within view. I believe that this is still a residual reaction from his being found wandering near the desert in Arizona back in 2018. Thanks to the hard work of the shelter staff and the funding they received from their supporters, Jake was taken into care and given a chance to find a new family.

So, because of Jacob-Milo's, Joee's, and Jeffrey's rescue stories, I remain focused and highly committed to my fundraising goal! And, while donations have been trickling in slowly and I am truly grateful to all those who have already pledged their support. As ever, I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents-per-kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience for my non-Canadian supporters, you may click here for my GoFundMe page but for my local supporters, I am also happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers at StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com

We'll be on the road home tomorrow so on Wednesday I'll resume my STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)!!!
