DAY 12 :: STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)
So Many Commemorations
For us, today, September 12th, marks several observances; both happy and not so much. First, on this day in 1981, Bill and I tied the knot. How could 40 years have just slipped by so quickly? Twenty-two years ago, my paternal grandmother passed away after failing health for many years. And, of course today marks Grandparents Day.
Earlier today though, as we reminisced about the past forty years, we remembered all of our beloved fur-kids who have gone on to the Rainbow Bridge. Each one brought distinct meaning to our lives and we miss them all dearly. But naturally, the ones in our family now reflect our devotion and love for pet rescue!

As another beautiful sunny Prince Edward Island morning dawned, I struck out to wander down a red dirt road that cut through rolling fields of corn and wheat. Unfortunately, since we had lunch plans I had only enough time to log a quick 6.25 kilometers. But, later on, my three boys and I struck out down another country lane and logged another 4 kilometers. So happily, today I will add a total of 10.25 kilometers to the SITPFKWB 2021 log book.

As always, I remain focused and committed to my fundraising goal. And, while donations have been trickling in slowly and I am truly grateful to all those who have already pledged their support. As ever, I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents-per-kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience for my non-Canadian supporters, you may click here for my GoFundMe page but for my local supporters, I am also happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers at StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com

Our time here on the Island is quickly coming to an end and while it has been a magical time for us, I am also looking forward to getting back to focusing on SITPFKWB and logging some serious kilometers as I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)!!!
