Day 11 :: STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)

Important Memorial

Today is a somber day as we mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Let's just take a moment to pause and reflect on the incredible bravery of the search and rescue dogs who became heros that day!!

It was a sunny, windy, chilly, but beautiful morning to head out. I wanted to be sure to have at least one day where we walked on the Confederation Trail. In total, there are 449 kilometers of connected trails that span the entire province of PEI and attracts thousands of hikers and cyclists every year. Being past the height of holiday season the trail was fairly quiet with only two or three other folks sharing it.

I was able to add a modest 6 kilometers to the log book today and with your generous support, to the dogs waiting in rescue, YOU can be the hero too!!

As always, I remain focused and committed to my fundraising goal. And, while donations have been trickling in slowly and I am truly grateful to all those who have already pledged their support. As ever, I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents-per-kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience for my non-Canadian supporters, you may click here for my GoFundMe page but for my local supporters, I am also happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers at StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com
