Well, here we are again. Already! Another edition, the 7th in 8 years, of Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark (in support of pet rescue). That 1 year, 2016 was set aside for Paces for Peg, as we walked to raise money for the Parkinson's Society in honour of my mom, Peg Riese. I'm so proud of the thousands of dollars, through the generosity of so many wonderful supporters, collected over these past many years support the fantastic pet rescues, including Animalert, PAWS United, Pee Wee's Pals, and the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. I am just finalizing the details with the rescue I have selected to support this year and I know that you will be excited to help me help them!!!

Today, I logged 7.5 kilometers. Now, that doesn't sound like much but, truth be told, I have been plagued with hip pain for nearly a year now and was recently diagnosed with arthritis, so I haven't been walking those long treks that I was used to. In fact, today's walk is one of the longest since early spring. So, this year, being "2020" 😷, a few small tweaks will be made to my campaign. While I will endeavour to walk as many days as I possibly can, on the days I am unable, I will go back through my archives for that specific day over the past 7 campaigns and log the highest total for that day. That way, I know I will be able to reach my target, one way or another.

I have a few other ideas that I hope to roll out over the next couple of days and I hope that you'll be as excited as I am about taking part.

As ever, the focus of the campaign remains this; I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of pet rescue) and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe account but for my local supporters I am also happy to accept cash, cheques, and e-transfers.

With 29 days to go, I am excited to get moving as I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK (in support of pet rescue)!!!
