And the cheque goes to.... Pee Wee's Pals

Today, it was an honour and great pleasure to visit Anne Aldrich and her Pee Wee’s Pals shelter in Phoenix. The purpose of my visit was two-fold; first, to do an “official” photo op and cheque presentation for the money I raised in the 2018 Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark campaign, and secondly, to present an additional cheque to top off the donations raised through my Facebook Birthday Fundraiser in January.

To recap my 2018 SITPFKWB contribution, $325 USD was generously donated by my American family and friends. The cheque itself was sent to Anne via the post last October.

But, to further assist this wonderful operation and the amazing and tireless work Anne does to aide surrendered and stray dogs in the Phoenix area, I created a Facebook Fundraiser for my birthday back in January, asking for donations in support of Pee Wee’s Pals. Further, I pledged to donate $1.00 for every birthday greeting I received on my personal page and raised an additional $69.00 as a result and bringing the final FB Fundraiser tally to $302.00 US!

During our visit today, we were sorely tempted by several cuddly little fur-kids, including a pair of 8-month-old terrier mixes (who sooooo reminded us of our beloved Thomas and Teegan). Little Tubby and Pepita were highly submissive and a little nervous, but quickly snuggled into our arms.

In the end, we came away with a warm feeling for having made a small drop in a big bucket but even more, with intense motivation and desire to DOUBLE the amount I raise for Pee Wee’s Pals in September when, once again, I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!!
