Reality. In today's world it's hard to take and, very often, even harder to understand. The very thought that thousands upon thousands of unwanted fur-kids are sitting in shelters while their time on this earth is slowly ticking away. My heart aches at the thought of reality.

I created SITPFKWB in 2013 because I saw a need to help local pet rescue carry out their heroic work. I'm always thrilled when I stop to chat with folks and their fur-kids and hear their "rescue" stories. And, while I found it hard to be involved as a front line rescuer, and I happily failed as a foster, (to my beautiful backyard breeder puppy mill mama Joee), my purpose was to try to help by raising desperately needed money to keep local rescue doing just that.

Today, Day 21 of Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark, began on what I would call a "low". My inner voice was being a little critical and got me wondering if I could do more. I logged 11.25 kilometers this morning in spite of a lingering headache that this change in weather has caused. My goal is 300 kilometers and it will be a record should I achieve it.
With just a handfull of days left in the 2018 Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark donations have been very slow to trickle in so I will have to work even harder over the next 9 days!!! To those of my supporters who have already donated, THANK YOU, EVER SO MUCH, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
As ever, the focus of the campaign remains this; I am personally donating -to each rescue- .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September (in support of Paws United Dog Rescue (not for profit rescue) and Pee Wees Pals Animal Rescue) and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe account [ https://www.gofundme.com/stroll-in-the-park-for-kids-who-bar ] but for my local supporters I am also happy to accept cheques, bank e-transfer, and cash.
I hope you're able to help a deserving soul in rescue with just a small donation while I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
**Please note that it is not possible to provide tax receipts for donations made through the GFM website.
