Day 9 :: Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark (in support of pet rescue)

Today was what I would call an "in-between" day. One of those days where I'm in-between a t-shirt and a jacket. It was a breezy 13°C so, to start out, I decided a jacket was needed. But, as I knew would happen, less than a kilometer into it, my pace had me warmed up enough to shed it and enjoy the relief of the light wind. In the end I was able to log a total of 10 kilometers this morning. These 10 kilometers topped off a record breaking week for me. With my total kilometers logged at 72.75, I beat my previous weekly record by 8.25 kilometers (and that includes one entire missed day)!!! YAY me!

Strangely however, this morning of “strolling” was mysteriously devoid of any fur-kids. While I observed only a couple with their guardians walking in the distance, I was denied the pleasure of any chance encounters this morning.

My current total of kilometers logged now sits at 84.75 after just nine days. To those of my supporters who have already donated, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. As ever, the focus of the campaign remains this; I am personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe account [ https://www.gofundme.com/stroll-in-the-park-for-kids-who-bar ] but for my local supporters I am also happy to accept cheques, bank e-transfer, and cash.

The weather forecast is calling for some heavy rain overnight and into tomorrow, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that, at some point, I’ll be able, once again, to STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!

**Please note that it is not possible to provide tax receipts for any doations made through the GFM website.
