Part 1 :: With a busy day ahead, I decided to strike out early this morning. So early in fact, that it was still dark and no surprise, I didn’t see a soul until I made my coffee stop. It was a brisk morning, but for me, the kind of weather that helps me to quicken my pace. And, although I was on a bit of a tight schedule, I logged 12.25 kilometers.

Part 2 :: I enjoyed a little company on the second part of my walk today as my sweet boy, Jacob-Milo joined me. (Unfortunately, Miss Joee isn’t able to walk too far any longer and was not very happy when we left.) We made a quick trip around the park and lake after dinner and “pawsed” to view the Trumpeter Swans and chat with some new friends along the way. With Jake’s support, we logged another 5.25 kilometers, bringing the grand total for Day 8 to 17.5!!!

To those of my supporters who have already donated, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. As ever, the focus of the campaign remains this; I am personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe account [ https://www.gofundme.com/stroll-in-the-park-for-kids-who-bar ] but for my local supporters I am also happy to accept cheques, bank e-transfer, and cash.
Tomorrow, being Sunday, will cap off the first “full” week of this year’s SITPFKWB and I look forward to it being a very special day. Besides knowing that I will be blowing my previous weekly total out of the water, I have a very special announcement to make and some other fun stories to share. I can hardly wait for another day to STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
**Please note that it is not possible to provide tax receipts for donations made through the GFM website.
