On this "Throwback Thursday" my Facebook feed showed me that on this day exactly 5 years ago, my connection with pet rescue began in earnest. My first ever Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark (that year held in support of a wonderful organization called Bill Foundation) was already underway when this little guy went missing. I searched frantically and plastered the Byron area with posters. Happily, Squirrel -I believe his name has since been changed- was found safe and sound!

Then, very shortly after that (just 2 weeks in fact) I brought home the sweet cock-a-poo girl who would become ours! After learning about the kind of life a puppy mill mama lives, my heart was forever bound to being involved in some way with pet rescue.

However, today I felt the need for some rest and to take some time as was what I call “Admin” day. While I didn’t log any “technical” kilometers, I spent many hours working on making valuable contacts, doing strategic planning, and working on some of my “creative” ideas.
I am looking forward to the exciting opportunity of appearing as a guest speaker at North Park Community Church’s Women’s Coffee Hour on Tuesday, September 25th. There I will have the opportunity to speak to the group about my passion for fur-kids and my month-long fundraising campaign Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark.
But, the focus of the campaign remains this; I am personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe account (for my American and International family and friends), but for my local supporters I am happy to accept cheques, bank e-transfer, and cash.
So, while today was a quiet day on the logging device, tomorrow I’ll be recharged and raring to STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
**Please note that it is not possible to provide tax receipts for any donations made throughtthe GFM website.
