Day 5 :: Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark (in support of pet rescue)

The record setting heat we experienced today (according to our local news) was barely tolerable, even when I set out at 7:00 a.m.! My pace really lagged in the humidity, but I did manage to log 12 kilometers again today. But, not so surprising, was the fact that I didn’t encounter one single fur-kid during the entire 2 hours.

In case you’re wondering, in order to make my distances “official” I use 3 different apps (Google Fit, Samsung Health, and Pacer) at the same time and then take the average as my total for the day. And, as part of my routine, I order my Tim’s dark roast as I step out my front door and pick it up at the mobile take out counter just 2 kilometers and 18 minutes later. (How fantastic is that? That I can walk in the door of Tim Horton’s, past the long line, grab my waiting coffee, and walk right past all those people and on out the door in just under 60 seconds!!)
I am excited to see that donations have begun to flow in. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to those of you who have already pledged I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September. I invite you to show your support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. Your donations may be made by cash, cheque, or bank email transfer, or via my Go Fund Me page https://www.gofundme.com/stroll-in-the-park-for-kids-who-bar.
I hope you will consider helping me make a difference in the lives of pets in rescue as I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
**Please note that it is not possible to provide tax receipts for any donations made through the GFM website.
