As this month quickly speeds by, I have barely had time to take a breath. This year has been incredibly hectic as I have been working so hard to grow Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark and raise awareness to the vital and irreplaceable role pet rescue plays in our society and to champion responsible pet guardianship.

Walking the distances I do gives me time to reflect and think about a lot of “stuff”. I have been honoured by the support I have received from so many people along the way. I will devote an entire article at the end of the month to acknowledge some special individuals who have aided and encouraged me along the way.

Today, being a picture-perfect Fall day, gave me the opportunity to log 11.5 kilometers at Springbank. During my quick trek through the park, I saw many familiar faces and enjoyed the beginning stages of Fall colours.

It’s now time to focus on the final preparations for STROLL-ALONG-SUNDAY coming up from 1:00 to 3:00 this Sunday, September 27th in Springbank Park, Picnic Area L. Register on my facebook page or by e-mail.

This year's Stroll-Along-Sunday event has been expanded to include some pet related vendors. And as well, there will be a free gift pack for those who pre-register and a grand prize for the "Stroller" who collects the most donations.

As I mentioned, during my month-long fundraising challenge, I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe account (for my American and International family and friends), but for my local supporters I am happy to accept cheques (made payable to Animalert), bank e-transfer, and cash.

My totals are on pace to beat last year’s both in kilometers and donations and it looks like the weather will co-operate this year to give me a good chance to do so as I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
