Today is a very SPECIAL day in our household! It was two years ago today that I brought the little puppy mill mama in to our house (supposedly) to foster. As you may have already heard the story, the fostering lasted all of 5 minutes and I knew that our hearts were connected for life. Joee (who I had renamed Johanna, meaning Gift From God) has thrived in our little family of fur-kids and here’s just the most recent proof!

At the same time, my connection with the wonderful members of the Animalert group began then too. While my ultimate goal is to champion responsible pet guardianship and raise awareness to the irreplaceable role pet rescue plays in our society, I have chosen Animalert as this year’s beneficiary to my personal month-long fundraising challenge, Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark.

It’s now time to focus on the final preparations for STROLL-ALONG-SUNDAY coming up from 1:00 to 3:00 this Sunday, September 27th in Springbank Park, Picnic Area L. https://www.facebook.com/events/625437057559139/

There will be a free gift to those who pre-register through my website and as well, there will also be a grand prize for the Stroller who collects the most donations.

As I mentioned, during my month-long fundraising challenge, I will be personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September and I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe account (for my American and International family and friends), but for my local supporters I am happy to accept cheques (made payable to Animalert), bank e-transfer, and cash.

So, Happy 2nd Gotcha Day beautiful Joee! It’s because of you and all those who still need saving that I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
