On this Throwback Thursday my Facebook feed showed me that on this day exactly 2 years ago, my connection with Animalert began in earnest. My first ever Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark (that year was in support of a wonderful organization called Bill Foundation) was already underway when this little guy went missing. I searched frantically and plastered the Byron area with posters. Happily, Squirrel -I believe his name has since been changed- was found safe and sound!

Then, very shortly after that (just 2 weeks in fact) I brought home the sweet cock-a-poo girl who would become ours! After learning about the kind of life a puppy mill mama lives, my heart was forever bound to being involved in some way with pet rescue.
So, today I logged another 12 kilometers in my month-long fundraising challenge bringing my total now up to 81.25.
I am personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September, I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe account (for my American and International family and friends), but for my local supporters I am happy to accept cheques (made payable to Animalert), bank e-transfer, and cash.
So, on behalf of Squirrel, Joee, and all the other Animalert foster fur-kids I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
