Day 8 :: Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark

Well, today was for the birds – literally! It was a quiet day on the Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark (in support of Animalert) walking front as I had a huge To Do list to tackle and not enough hours in the day. And yes, that’s why this update is so late getting out!

I struck out fairly early and since it was the first day back to school, the trail was pretty much deserted. Well, that is except for some feathered friends I encountered along the way. However, I did manage to add another 4.75 kilometers to my total.

As I passed by the pen which houses a pair of pheasants (I call them George & Martha), I swear he was logging as many kilometers as I was as he paced back and forth!

A flock of seagulls was busy enjoying the remnants of a busy weekend in the park.

In addition to personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September, I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. Donations can be made by cheque (made payable to Animalert), bank e-transfer, and cash. E-mail me at StrollingForFurKids@gmail.com for more details.

While the past few days have been challenging with the high heat and humidity, the forecast for cooler temps will be just what I need while I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
