My morning starts early (for being retired); usually just after 6:00 a.m.. I have such full days planned I need all the hours I can squeeze out of them. Once I get the hubby fed and off to work, the fur-kids fed and walked, it’s finally my turn and I head out for my walk. (No, I don't take my fur-kids along since they're all seniors now and the distance would be just too much for them.)
This morning was a lovely, steamy morning as I made my way around Lake Margaret (pictured below...you can see all the daily photos on my Facebook page) and in to Pinafore Park. My pace was a little slow as I was a bit tired from my big day yesterday. But, once I finished my daily ritual dark roast Tim’s, a spring returned to my step.

Along the way, I talked to lots of folks out walking their pups, giving them my card and telling anyone who would listen all about my fundraising challenge. I made a new friend in Felicity (sweet cat below) when I stopped and fed her some breakfast. Further along, I fed little Jasper as well. (I’ve named these strays myself.)

In the end, I was dripping wet from the humidity but was able to log a total of 9 kilometers but all-in-all it was a successful day. My SITPFKWB totals at the end of this Day 2 sit at 19.25 kilometers walked for a donation of almost $10.00. With 28 days yet to go, I know I’ll be able to beat my 2014 finish!
In addition to personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September, I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe ** account (especially for my American family and friends), but as always I am happy to accept cheques (made payable to Animalert), bank transfer via e-mail, and cash.
I’ll be hitting the hay early tonight so I’m fresh bright and early tomorrow when, once again, I STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!
**Please note that it is not possible to provide tax receipts for any donations made through the GFM website.
