Well, I have to admit that day one was a gruelling day! Being Tuesday, I play golf in a ladies league so I was out on the links bright and early this morning. Then after a quick coffee and bagel I was off to Springbank Park to kick off Day 1 of Stroll In the Park For Kids Who Bark. I logged a quick 5.25 kilometers and enjoyed the balmy breezes as I trekked along the river.

Home to St. Thomas where I then headed out to the “new” park, Pinafore Park, to log another 5 kilometers. The path along Lake Margaret was lively with lots of birds fluttering through the trees and the park was filled with squirrels beginning their fall gathering.

So, I’m pleased to report that Day 1 of the 3rd Annual Stroll In The Park For Kids Who Bark began on a good note logging a total of 10.25 kilometers.

Needless to say, I’m a little pooped tonight (I got 3 loads of laundry in, cooked a nice spaghetti dinner, and played a game of hide-n-seek with the fur-kids as well) so I’m off to la-la-land.

In addition to personally donating .50 cents per kilometer for every kilometer I walk in the month of September, I invite folks to show their support by sponsoring me either by cents/kilometer or in a lump sum [click her to download a sponsor form]. For added convenience, I have created a GoFundMe ** account (especially for my American family and friends), but as always I am happy to accept cheques (made payable to Animalert), bank transfer via e-mail, and cash.

The forecast for tomorrow is hot and steamy so I’ll be setting out bright and early to STROLL IN THE PARK FOR KIDS WHO BARK!!!

**Please note that it is not possible to provide tax receipts for any donations made through the GFM website.
