Many Ways to Make a Positive Contribution to Rescue

There are so many ways in which we can make a positive contribution to the world of rescue. Sure, financial support comes to mind first; but there's also fostering!

With very good intentions, Bill and I planned to give fostering a try last year, and on September 24th I brought home a very special little girl. Joee, a cock-a-poo and former puppy mill mama, was rescued by Animalert and I was selected to be her foster mom. I failed!!

But, my failure resulted in making Joee a permanent member of our family (along with our Norfolk Terriers, Thomas & Teegan) and we just love her to bits! The experience of teaching her all the "little" things that she had missed over the course of her 8 or so years has been most gratifying, thrilling, and very special. (She even passed her Level I agility program with flying colours!!) To this day, we continue to see positive changes in her personality and in the way she participates in every aspect of daily life.

I may be a "foster failure" but I am truly a FOSTER ADVOCATE! If you have the opportunity or have even just slightly entertained the idea of fostering a homeless fur-kid, I urge you to act. Life as you know it will never be the same - for you both!
